Transfering 1and1 to namecheap

To transfer a domain doesn’t really take time maximum number of days to transfer is between 5 to 7 days if you have all the access key.  Access key are the EPP , email verification , 1and1 DNS configuration and sign-up to namecheap.

Unlock the domain name and privacy change it into public then send the EPP code to the person who purchase your domain or authority to transfer the domain.

To finalized the domain transfer go to primary email account to verify where the domain name was being purchase. If you cannot see in your email probably verification account of the domain name was filtered in the spam.  The primary email account is private key only the person who as the authority can transfer the domain this is protection to the original owner of the domain. Even if you get the access key in EPP code without email verification you cannot complete the process.

The question is who is ther perosn using the primary email account to transfer the mydomainname.com ? Answer is the one who purchase that domain has the verification key to complete the process.

Backup your domain with enough funding in namecheap make a deposit using bitcoin , paypal, google wallet and credit card. To keep your domain ownership if you have enough deposit. Make sure it is auto renewal setting mode.

The 1and1 autonewal will be renew if  you have enough funding in your  paypal and credit card only. But doesn’t hold any deposit to your account.  Problem is what if your credit card will expire then at a moment of time you need to pay the domain and hosting.  You need to have a yearly plan for all the domain your purchase to keep the account running.

Things to do to transfer:

EPP code from 1&1
1.)Select Domains in the Basic Settings section
2.)Select the domain name get EPP codeExample: [email protected]*Y
3.)Click Info

Unlock your domain
1.)Select Domains in the Basic Settings section
2.)Select the domain name(s) you want to unlock
3.)Choose Lock/Unlock in the Transfers menu
4.)Choose Unlock and click OK

Disable private registration with 1&1
1.)Select Domains in the Basic Settings section
2.)Select the domain name you need to disable privacy protection for
3.) Choose Private/Public Registration in the Contact menu
4.)Select Public and click OK

Note: To finalized the domain transfer go to primary email account to verify where the domain name was being purchase.
